Full Job Description

Future PLC requires a Senior Finance Manager for its Magazine division. Future Plc is a global platform for specialist media, home to some of the world's most famous magazine brands including Country Life, Marie Claire, PC Gamer and Home & Gardens. The role is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Magazine revenue, producing the monthly financial management accounts including performance analysis, and budgets and forecasts. In addition, this role will be business partner the Subscription Marketing Directors and Newstrade Commercial Director.

What you'll be doing...

As number two to the Head of Finance for Magazines and Newstrade, the Senior Finance Manager will manage month end reporting & analysis, balance sheet controls for Future PLC Magazine revenue, as well as being the key Finance business partner to the Subscription Marketing Directors and the Newstrade Commercial Director.

Following a period of growth, acquisitions and migration to new systems, the role holder will also play a key part in driving efficiencies in processes and optimising reporting to better inform stakeholders decisions.

There will be three / four direct reports.

Month end Reporting & Analysis

  • Ownership of producing monthly management accounts to a strict timetable and in accordance with company policy and generally accepted accounting practice

  • Support the Head of Finance in transforming the subscription revenue reporting to align with brand allocation between Specialist and News & Wealth

  • Prepare performance analysis and commentary versus budget / forecast, as well as presenting the monthly results to Head of Commercial Finance and Key stakeholders within the business

    Experienced qualified accountant, with greater than 4 year PQE (ACA, CIMA or ACCA)

  • Proven track record of managing, coaching and develop junior team members

  • You will need to be comfortable leading the monthly management accounts process for Magazine revenue, quarterly forecasting process and oversight of year end close

  • Strong communication and business partnering skills with an aptitude for collaboration and share knowledge sharing

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Ability to understand, review and improve processes and controls

  • Comfortable driving change across multiple functions and stakeholders

  • Confidence to challenge the status quo, balanced with providing guidance to the business

  • Positive mindset, proactive and with a can-do attitude

    The expected range for this role is £50,000 - £70,000
