Full Job Description

  • Acting as the first point of contact for ML models in production, with monitoring and alerting in place and a process to respond.

  • Creating new models, refreshing models and working with engineers to productionise these models.

  • Providing visibility on ML models KPIs.

  • Exploring datasets to create new features that improve model performance.

  • Communicating findings and insights to stakeholders (Product / Growth) with regards to the factors that impact business outcomes.

    Advanced degree in Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field, with a strong foundation in statistical modelling and machine learning.

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in a data science or similar role.

  • Expertise in Python, Jupyter Notebooks, SageMaker (or similar), and familiarity with MLFlow or equivalent model management tools.

  • Extensive experience in developing and deploying machine learning models in production, preferably within B2C, online retail or similar sectors.

  • Proven track record of strategic model development, from conception through to production and impact measurement.

  • Demonstrated technical leadership within data science projects, with the ability to mentor more junior team members or develop talent within a growing team.

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a keen ability to apply data science for tangible business advantage.

  • Strong project management skills, comfortable leading agile projects with changing priorities and tight deadlines.

  • Excellent communication skills, with experience in presenting technical details to non-technical audiences.


  • Whilst not a requirement, any of the following would be considered advantageous:
  • Deep understanding of ethical considerations in data science, including privacy, fairness, and bias mitigation.

  • Publications in relevant data science fields or contributions to open-source projects.

  • Experience with innovative data science techniques, including AI and deep learning, and their application in solving business problems.

  • Background or interest in e-commerce or Health Tech, with an understanding of the specific data challenges and opportunities it presents.
