Full Job Description

The post holder has a key role in the development and transformation of services, focusing primarily on delivering high-level expert support in all aspects of contracting at Place. This will include providing expert support, advice and guidance on innovative contracting strategies ensuring that these strategies are fully aligned with the latest changes in contract legislation. The aim is to support transformation and delivery programs at Place effectively. The role demands a proactive approach to ensure that all contracting activities are executed in accordance with strict deadlines. The post holder will also work alongside the contracting and delivery team to: Be responsible for providing senior support to a wide portfolio of contracts both at place and system level, ensuring that these contracts are in line with current NHS guidance and legislation. Ensure that contract documents comprehensively incorporate requirements essential for supporting transformation, delivery, and
integration. This responsibility includes a thorough understanding of significant issues and the identification of necessary actions within the framework of contract compliance. The aim is to guarantee that care is delivered at the highest possible quality, leveraging the available resources. Collaborate closely with the Transformation and Delivery team to actively involve clinical and professional leadership in defining contracting requirements. Investigate and advise on highly complex contractual issues and provide corporate reports and business planning advice in this area Work as a key member of transformation, delivery, and Improvement teams, primarily contributing contracting expertise to manage services effectively. While the core responsibility revolves around contracting, the role also involves collaborating with the wider team on additional functions within the commissioning cycle, albeit in a supportive capacity. This delineation ensures that contracting remains the central
focus, with other duties complementing this primary role to enhancing deliver of improved services The role will be pivotal in supporting the delivery of strategic developments and projects from a contractual perspective, and act as a key collaborator for a number of services/providers across health and care. Ensure that the ICB operates to the highest standards of financial management through strategic contracting practices, thereby maximising value for money and facilitating quality improvement within its allocated resources. Lead as part of a leadership team, focussing on utilising contracting strategies to drive transformation and quality improvement as well as value for money across planning, transformation and delivery functions.
