Full Job Description

We are recruiting for a Senior Communications Officer to join the Research Culture team. This role is available as a secondment for internal UCL staff only, from 1st August 2024 for 12 months. This role is offered on a hybrid basis, the successful candidate will be expected to work a minimum of 1 day/week on campus. The Senior Communications Officer will support the Communications Manager to deliver an integrated communications and engagement plan to raise awareness of research culture and UCL's work to enhance it. They will also support strategic projects to improve how UCL communicates with its research community. Further detail about the duties and responsibilities of this role can be seen in the attached JD.

To be considered for this role, you should have significant experience in a similar communications role, where you have been responsible for creating engaging communications content for a range of different channels and audiences. A strong writer and editor, you should be confident using appropriate content management systems, publishing software and other tools to create your work. You should have experience working on communications campaigns, including planning, delivery and evaluation. You know how to build good relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, using diplomacy and discretion where required. You are a strong team player and can proactively identify opportunities to collaborate with colleagues from across the team, department and university. Equally, you can work independently and prioritise your workload. You have strong organisational skills and an exceptional eye for detail.
