The Senior Communications Manager for SYSTEMIQ's Nature and Food Platform will lead the planning and implementation of the platforms' communications with the aim of enhancing the visibility and impact of key projects. Working hand in hand with teams based in our global offices, as well as with SYSTEMIQ's key external partners, the Senior Communications Manager will ensure our communications is of the highest quality across all projects and assets., You will be part of a growing global communications and engagement team and will work closely with Systemiq's leadership and the wider team to build out the organisation's communications capabilities.,

  • Oversee communications for all projects across the Nature and Food platform at Systemiq. You will also be main point person for media on these projects

  • Build out relationships with and act as the main point of contact for journalists on the work of the Nature and Food platform

  • Project manage and/or produce diverse communications assets for both internal and external stakeholders, including communications strategies and campaigns, press releases, articles and op-eds, social media content (LinkedIn and Twitter), blogs and newsletters

  • Develop and maintain a forward look of external-facing priorities and use as a planner with teams to budget and resource communications effectively, engaging with senior leadership in both the Nature and Food and Communications teams

  • Ensure consistency in the way SYSTEMIQ brand is deployed, both in terms of logo usage and language, across all external communications assets

  • Develop and execute external events and convenings which engage key stakeholders, including virtual and/or in-person events

  • Build and manage relationships with external project partners and donors, including working closely with FOLU (Food and Land Use Coalition)

  • Work closely with vendors on external creative projects including publication design and layout, multimedia development; includes sourcing and hiring vendors as well as developing clear creative briefs within budget

  • Alongside SYSTEMIQ's core communications team, ensure internal stakeholders are appropriately aware of any external communications priorities including our board, investors and others

  • Working with the core communications team, input into key planning tools including editorial and events trackers

  • In coordination with the Platform Lead and core communications team, identify any reputational risks that may be associated with our projects and advise teams and SYSTEMIQ leaders on best course of action

  • Set and keep track of communications metrics to measure and report impact

    The role requires a keen understanding of the sustainability (with some experience in nature and food space welcomed), acute communications instincts, and the ability to work professionally and diplomatically with internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives. The right candidate will have a proven track record of managing end-to-end communication projects (including report launches), media engagement, producing digital and media assets and crafting powerful stories. We are looking for someone who is at ease working in English, can demonstrate strong planning/coordination skills., Proven experience of delivering strategic communications around global issues, including on climate and sustainability issues

  • Strong experience in building relationships with media and managing media requests

  • Strong track record of developing powerful, engaging, and innovative messaging, including digital, video, and print content

  • Experience in copy-editing and publication of journals, reports, articles and press releases, with strong attention to detail

  • Experience working with a variety of cultures and across regional stakeholders

  • Demonstrate ability to develop and coordinate complex projects, working closely with external and internal partners and managing third party providers such as agencies and designers.

  • Ability to deliver juggling competing deadlines and deliver on time

  • Experience using basic communications tools including but not limited to: Cision, Meltwater, Powerpoint, and MailChimp (or other online marketing publication platform)

  • Fluent in English, including outstanding written and verbal communication skills

  • Must have minimum 7 years' related professional experience in communications and/or journalism
