Full Job Description

We're looking for a Senior Commercial Finance Analyst to join our Finance team at Tails.com. This is a remarkable opportunity for someone who loves digging for answers through detailed analysis and summarising findings to support stakeholders with key decision-making., Reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance, the Senior Commercial Finance Analyst will be the designated business partner for our customer lifecycle subscription metrics. With an eye for detail coupled with a comprehensive understanding of the bigger picture, you will provide insight into how our customers are behaving, analysing the performance of key subscription metrics in each market to support both the acquisition and loyalty teams to deliver our growth aspirations.

This role offers stability in an extremely friendly working environment. As part of a small, close-knit finance team in a growth company, there will be plenty of room for development.

You will be responsible for:

  • Business partnering our performance marketing team to ensure they make optimal investment decisions across all channels based on robust cost per acquisition and lifetime value analysis

  • Business partnering our loyalty team to understand retention performance, including drivers of churn, and model opportunities to improve our customer experience

  • Supporting the delivery of a robust forecast through accuracy in predicting performance for the customer lifecycle metrics and challenging commercial inputs from the acquisition and loyalty team to ensure robustness of their submissions

  • Trend analysis through weekly and monthly reporting with the commercial team to understand drivers of performance and identify opportunities and risks

Numerate with an analytical / logical mindset - ability to use data and numbers to tell a story

  • Great communicator and strong collaboration skills - ideally with a proven ability to deliver strong, clear guidance and provide context to different team members (both verbal and written comms)

  • Attention to detail - the ability to catch mistakes and inconsistencies, in both the work you produce and the data you analyse

  • Proven finance experience - forecasting, modelling, P&L management, analysis and strategic decision-making (e.g., part-qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA, finance degree, etc.)

We're Tails.com, a dog food subscription company with a big difference. We create truly tailored food for each and every dog we serve. We start by asking people a few simple questions about their dog. Then we use that information to create their dog's unique Tails.com recipe - so their dog gets exactly the nutrition they need, in the taste they love, delivered to their door every month. It's clever stuff.

  • We've got ambitious plans. Having created an entirely new category in pet food, we're now scaling fast in the UK and Europe - backed by Purina, one of the world's largest pet food companies. You'll join a bunch of smart people working towards the same goals - and a bunch of smart-ish dogs, all working on their own thing.

Together, we'll change the world of pet food for good., Join the Finance team at Tails.com and you'll help everyone here make better decisions. We listen. We ask questions. We find new ways and build new tools to help people understand what's going on, measure what impact they have, and predict what might happen next.

We're connected to every team in Tails.com, joining dots across the business. We don't write reports that sit in drawers. In a company that changes as fast as we do, the work you do in the morning can be in the hands of customers by that afternoon.

We're creative with problems. We're nerdy with data. And we're good with people.

Sound like a team you'd like to join? Here's how you'll make a difference, We're proud to be an active equal opportunity employer. We want to give everyone a fair chance to join us in changing the world of pet food for good. We do this by conducting a structured recruitment process for all candidates, as well as actively promoting our roles to communities that are under-represented at Tails.com.
