Full Job Description

We are delighted to advertise two, full time, 8a Clinical Psychologist posts to work in Neuropsychology. We are a supportive and innovative team, delivering neuropsychological intervention and psychological therapies to people with neurological injury or illness.
You will be make a valued contribution to goal focused, multi-disciplinary neuro-rehabilitation in a range of settings. Both posts will be job planned to provide clinical neuropsychology to our services in two of the following settings:
+ Inpatient neuro-rehabilitation wards, based at Walkergate Park
+ Neuropsychology outpatient services, based at Walkergate Park
+ Northumberland Head Injuries Service, based at St Georges Park and involving community visits in and around Northumberland.
You will have opportunities to be involved in and/or lead on service innovations, audit and research. You will be involved in the monitoring and evaluation of neuropsychological, psychological and neuro-rehabilitation outcomes and draw upon national guidelines for best practice.
You will take an active role in multi-disciplinary teamwork (MDT), often chairing or leading on MDT case reviews, capacity assessments, best-interests' meetings, safeguarding and risk management strategies.
There are opportunities to provide elective placements and teaching for the D.Clin.Psy, + Assessment of neuropsychological impact of neurological illness or injury including selection, administration and interpretation of appropriate psychometric measures
+ Working with service users and MDT members to develop neuropsychological formulation in relation to acquired brain injury
+ To provide clinical neuropsychology services in a range of settings in line with neuropsychological formulation and neuro-rehabilitation goals
+ To provide community neuro-rehabilitation requiring travel in and around Northumberland.
+ To communicate complex and sensitive information to MDT colleagues, service users, carers, relatives and other professionals to support neurorehabilitation, safeguarding, risk assessments, capacity assessments and best interests' decision making.
+ To work flexible and responsively to prioritise clinical demand and high-quality neuropsychological services.
+ To offer psychological therapies, adapting psychological models and intervention to accommodate the cognitive, physical and sensory needs of service users.
+ To make an active contribution to the neuropsychology service's aims and objectives in relation to service innovation, audit and research
+ To undertake and offer teaching and training in clinical neuropsychology
+ To provide clinical supervision to qualified and non-qualified staff
+ To work in accordance with the job description (attached) and in line with the needs of the service.

The successful applicant(s) will have substantial experience in clinical neuropsychology and will be keen to pursue a career in neuropsychology.
