Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Housing and Resettlement team as a Senior Caseworker leading the Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG) function. Your primary responsibility will be managing the day to day activity of the service. This will include a customer centric approach, when liaising with customers and contractors, and responding to Councillor and MP enquiries. Having a proven track record of leading and developing a team will be really important in this role. Tasks will include conducting staff 121s, Annual Performance Conversations and Reviews, leading team meetings, approving orders and supporting staff with complex and or challenging enquiries. As Senior Caseworker with the Housing and Resettlement Service it's key that you have experience/knowledge in a number of areas such as change management, quality assurance and understand the importance of customer led services. Experience of housing related grant project management is essential, preferably in a Disabled
Facilities Grants setting.

This is a great opportunity to help shape the DFG service and work to improve the lives of our communities. The service is currently being modernised, including increased digitalisation, to improve the customer journey. To support this transformation, the successful applicant will have the ability to review all policy and processes, develop and monitor key performance indicators, ensuring service user and staff buy in.

As a customer orientated service we work to support some of our most vulnerable households. Therefore, having the ability to show empathy, actively listen, manage expectations and negotiate solutions for more complex enquiries is essential and this may involve site visits to customers' homes. Proactive partnership work is key, involving external stakeholders, in particular contractors and housing associations.
