Senior accountant / Client Manager with General Practice experience

We are looking for an ACCA or ACA qualified person with general practice experience to manage a portfolio of clients. The role is split approximately 90:10 between non-audit and audit assignments.

The work is primarily in our office in Clifton but there is scope for some home working. We are offering a full time position (35 hours per week) but can offer a more flexible part time position of between 28 and 35 hours per week.

- Managing a portfolio of clients and directly liaising with clients

- Preparing statutory accounts, including all notes and disclosures.

- Auditing small and medium sized companies including groups

- Preparation of corporation tax returns including capital allowances computations.

- Preparing individual self assessment tax returns

- Preparing and reviewing management accounts and VAT returns

- assisting in training junior staff and providing feedback

Up to date with current auditing and accounting issues and conversant with relevant auditing and accounting standards, company law etc.

- Good tax and VAT knowledge. An awareness of payroll taxes advantageous.

- Previous audit experience within an accountancy practice

- Confident with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral

- you have developed good client liaison skills and work well as part of a team

- Analytical skills and attention to detail and ability to think laterally to be capable of identifying potential problems and providing solutions

- Show initiative, exercise judgement and take ownership of issues from start to finish

- Willing and able to work under pressure and cope flexibly with deadlines,

• A-Level or equivalent (preferred)
