Full Job Description

  • Assisting with bedtime routines and ensuring the individual is comfortable and safe

  • Providing walking assistance and supporting mobility with an assistance dog

  • Using a hoist for safe transfers, as the individual is a wheelchair owner

  • Maintaining a friendly and supportive environment, Seeking a compassionate and experienced Personal Assistant to assist a 67-year-old gentleman with evening care in the Eastbourne area. This role involves providing support with bedtime routines and walking assistance for an assistance dog.

  • Candidate qualities,
  • Moving and handling

  • Other relevant duties as required

  • Looking after pets

  • Dressing / undressing

  • Bathroom assistance

    Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative

  • Hygienic, tidy and well organised

  • Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties

  • Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills

  • Honest and cheerful

  • Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard

  • Must be comfortable with pets

  • Able to always work to high standards of health & safety, Previous experience as a carer or in a similar role

  • Knowledge of Personal Assistant insurance and safeguarding protocols

  • Ability to use a hoist and assist with mobility

  • Friendly and patient demeanor, with a compassionate approach to care
