Full Job Description

Purpose of the job: CYS Security are currently seeking enthusiastic, focused, and knowledgeable Security Control Centre Operators to work within a newly formed control Centre based at our Head Office in Luton,

The Security Control Centre (SCC) must be staffed 24-hours per day, 7 days per week. The Security Control Centre Operator is responsible for using best practices to identify, analyze, and support all incidents that are either impactful or potentially impactful to business, the brand and or employees.

This position is responsible for using best practices for communicating information surrounding those incidents to the On duty Supervisor or service delivery managers as appropriate. The Security Control Centre Operators will monitor cameras and alarms, dispatch associated calls via telephone to CYS mobile services and suppliers , the Control Centre Operators will also operate access control technology.

The Security Control Centre operator will escalate both crisis and non-crisis incidents to the Dedicated Contracts Manager / Supervisor for regional Coverage as per standard operating procedures.

Main Duties:

· Answering routine calls, monitoring alarms and video equipment including door alarms and provides general assistance to both employees and Management.

· Dispatching security officers as required via telephone and/or email.

· Maintaining various records of communications and events

· Communicating and disseminating information,

· Accurately maintaining control of all equipment and keys in the Control Room.

· Accurately logs all equipment and keys signed out and returned by Security or other parties, informing the relevant Management / Supervisor of any missing, damaged, or inoperative equipment or communications, alarm, CCTV, or other systems.

· Proactively monitoring all surveillance cameras and CCTV remote viewer programs. Monitors and responds to all security and safety system alarms

· Answering and responding to events and situations received over regular and emergency phones and intercoms.

· Scheduling of Officers rotas & Adhoc Duties requested by the Clients / Management.

Performance Management:

· Address performance and attendance issues in accordance with CYS Security Ltd policies, escalating as necessary.

· Maintain the Security Operations Manual, providing guidance to on-site security personnel on duties, attendance, equipment use, and training.

  • Reporting and Representation:

  • Produce monthly reports for core clients, summarising relevant activities.

  • Generate and distribute daily reports on alarm activations, incidents, and subsequent actions with the use of the go audit app

  • Management of all keys process , storage and fleet requirements


  • Security Breaches and Investigations:

  • Act as the focal point for security investigations, preparing reports and recommending follow-up actions.

  • Report significant security breaches to Directors, conduct thorough investigations, and propose necessary courses of action.

  • Be on call 24/7 for emergencies, providing swift response and resolution.


  • Other Responsibilities:

  • Undertake any additional duties as requested, fitting within the scope of the job role.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, conducting risk assessments, safety checks, and maintaining adequate records.

  • Security Industry Expertise:


  • · Proven experience within the security industry, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of security protocols and practices.
  • Regulatory Knowledge:


  • · Sound working knowledge of Health and Safety, Security Industry Authority (SIA), Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS), Fire Regulations, and other relevant security legislation and best practices.
  • IT Proficiency:


  • · Basic IT skills, including a working knowledge of MS Office packages, coupled with familiarity with electronic security systems.

  • · Sound judgment and decision-making skills, with a hands-on, problem-solving approach.
