SD / PW - Self-employed Personal Assistant

Seeking self-employed worker to provide support to an Autistic male adult who suffers from generalised anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, Temporal Lobe Epilepsy, and depression.
The client requires support with maintaining his own independence in his own home.
This position will involve:

• Supporting the client to carry out online grocery shop and occasional shopping locally.


• Supporting the client with meal preparation.


• Transporting and accompanying the client to and from appointments.


• Support the client to apply correct ointment/cream independently.


• Support the client to maintain household domestic tasks such as hoovering, bed changes, laundry and operating dishwasher.


• Provide support to pay bills including utility bills online and over the telephone.


• Support the client to make and book medical appointments and collect medication. This would include accompanying the client to and from medical appointments.


• Support the client to read and understand letters, including emails.


• Being calm and patient as the client suffers from memory problems and confusion so will need information explained in a clear manner.


• The client enjoys playing Nintendo Switch Super Mario Cart and would enjoy someone to play with.
  
  Experience working in a similar role desirable but not essential. An awareness and understanding of OCD and Autism is essential. Would suit someone with a calm and patient personality with a passion for supporting others.


You must have excellent communication, and engagement skills. A driver with a full clean license is essential to this position.
