School Crossing Patrol

This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Rod Safety Team.

The following Permanent, Term Time only vacancies are available:

• Ty Sign Primary School, Risca - 6 hours 15 minutes per week


• Pengam Primary School - 8 hours 45 minutes per week


• Blackwood Primary School - 7 hours 30 minutes per week


• Cwmcarn Primary School - 10 hours 50 minutes per week


Daily hours for each post will be broken into two shifts, one at the beginning of the school day and one at the end.

We pay an attractive salary of £12.18 - £12.38 per hour and offer access to training and development opportunities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision of the safe crossing of pupils and other pedestrians at a specific location going to and from school, ensuring their health and safety at all times.

You will comply with our policies and ensure regulations are adhered to, within the School Crossing Patrol Guidelines and Handbook. You must be an effective communicator and will be expected to liaise with management, parents, pupils and the school successfully.

For the role, we ask that you have:

• A good understanding of road use and traffic awareness


• The ability to make decisions where appropriate


• The ability and willingness to undertake training as required within the role
