Full Job Description

We have an opportunity for a Scheme Manager to join our Housing Operations team, based in Newmarket. As a Scheme Manager you will be responsible for providing a high-quality housing management service which will include providing tenancy advice, following up repairs for residents and promoting independent living. This is a rewarding role and is ideal for someone who has previous experience of working with older people in a housing management or care setting and aware of safeguarding concerns.

The role of Scheme Manager will include:

  • Supporting residents by providing information to promote independence

  • Completing mandatory compliance tasks along with health and safety checks

  • Reporting and monitoring repairs to conclusion

  • Delivering high quality customer service by resolving problems and complaints

  • Maintaining accurate records about residents and the scheme

  • We work closely with the Home Office in order to prevent illegal working.
    A basic Disclosure and Barring Service check will be necessary in the event of a successful application which we will pay for.

  • Numeracy and literacy to the equivalent of GCSE Grade C or above in English and Maths

  • Some experience of working with older people and understanding their individual needs or similar

  • Ability to work alone and manage workloads to meet deadlines

  • Working knowledge of handling confidential and sensitive information

  • Good interpersonal and customer care skills

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Travel is a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is essential

  • The full time equivalent salary for this role is £23,774 based on 37.5 hours per week rising to £24,501 after 12 months service and subject to satisfactory performance
