Sales Representative and Administrator

We are offering a unique opportunity to join our small but fast-growing team of 22 staff in Caerphilly as a Sales Representative and Administrator., This role is a highly dynamic Sales Representative and Administrator position - liaising with customers to close key sales, resolving customer queries, and follow-up sales administrative duties such as raising invoices.

The vast majority of our sales are online or over the telephone - with a very minimal but occasional in-person sale. There will also be general administrative duties to assist staff in other departments.

You will be working from an office but will need to be comfortable occasionally entering our warehouse - as some queries require you to view the products which are located in the warehouse. We would estimate about 2-3% of your time to be spent in the warehouse.

You will also be part of our front-of-house team so will need to be comfortable answering the door to couriers etc.

Training and Development:

We sell predominantly used laboratory equipment but we do not expect you to have any prior knowledge of lab equipment.

We are looking for a self-motivated, hard-working individual who has initiative and works well unsupervised, to join our team., We are looking for a hard-working and committed individual who can think on their feet and respond well to this dynamic sales position.

To fulfil the role, you must have exceptional IT skills, and be comfortable using a computer for the vast majority of your day. You must also be a people-person and highly motivated, keen to chase up potential sales leads. Previous experience in a sales-related role is desirable.

It is important that you feel comfortable both working under direct supervision to meet targets, as well as self-motivating yourself when working independently.

At UniGreenScheme, our hard-working team collect second-hand equipment from many prestigious UK universities, and process and photograph the items at our warehouse to be resold online.

Since our launch in 2016, our team has collected over 650,000kg of unwanted but usable equipment. Instead of this going into disposal skips, it has been photographed, tested, processed, and ultimately sold to be re-used in hospitals, schools, and research labs across the world.

We have also supplied equipment to numerous movies and TV shows as props including the Fast and Furious spin-off Hobbs & Shaw, the Jurassic Park movie and several Star Wars TV Shows.

The contracted hours for this position are 40 hours (Monday to Friday - (8:00 - 16:30) with an unpaid lunch break plus the opportunity for overtime. Salary is £11.50 - £15.50 per hour depending on experience. This position will be subjected to a 6-month probationary period.
