Sales Assistant

Oakdene wine station is a vibrant, family-owned business. We provide our customers with fuel, food and freshly baked produce but our speciality is most certainly wine. As a sales assistant, you will work with your colleagues, on a 6-hour shift, to ensure a high quality customer experience is maintained; we pride ourselves in our exceptional customer service and maintaining outstanding store conditions.

As a sales assistant, your role will include, but will not be limited to, the following tasks:

• Provide exceptional customer service on the till, handling cash, ensuring all till procedures are carried out in a correct and precise manner.


• Maintain an outstanding store condition, including cleaning, visual merchandising standards and price labelling.


• Carry out health and safety checks when needed and making sure all equipment in the store are in a good working order.


• Report any issues that require instant attention to the manager.


• Count, quality check and correctly store deliveries.


• Carry out all relevant checks before and after your shift, as well as all store opening and closing routines.

• Store discount, Although no experience is needed for this role, as full training will be provided, what we are looking for is someone with the following skills:


• Excellent time management, and knows how to prioritise some tasks over others at certain times.


• Conscientious, always arrives on time, handles cash competently and strives for high standards of store cleanliness.


• Eager to learn with a hands on approach and ready to carry out any tasks required in all different areas of the store.


• Must be flexible, available to work different shifts including evenings and weekends.


• Access to own means of transport, and flexibilty, due to opening and closing times of the store, which are 5:30am and 11pm respectively.


• Must be 18 or over due to sale of alcohol and cigarettes.
