Full Job Description

Come and join our wonderful team as a salaried GP! We are a tier 2 visa approved GMS practice in North-East Essex where work-life balance is not just a buzzword. We are offering our salaried GP a very competitive salary which is enhanced if taking on a clinical lead role. We pride ourselves on supporting a family-friendly and flexible working pattern. Working days, although flexible, must include Monday.

The team comprises two friendly, supportive partners (also married to each other), 6 salaried GPs, an excellent nursing team (with specialist skills in asthma, COPD, diabetes, learning disabilities, palliative care and women's health), 3 clinical pharmacists, a pharmacy technician team, physiotherapist, mental health nurse and social prescriber. We are further supported by excellent admin staff including a dynamic GP assistant and care co-ordinator teams.

Our surgery is a semi-rural practice of ~12,000 patients in the large village of Tiptree (renowned for it's jam). We are in an ideal location close to England's oldest town, Colchester, with great schools, nearby rail links direct to London, and easy access to the beautiful east coast and Constable Country.

We don't have any nursing home commitments. We have superb ANPs who manage the majority of our home visits and our patients' palliative care needs.

Our GPs have active interests in minor surgery, mental health, palliative care and women's health. We happily support any desire to pursue personal and professional development. We have an immediate ambition to become a training practice. We embrace new ways of working whilst striving to maintain the family doctor traditions.

Teamwork, cohesion and engagement are extremely important to us, we feel these are vital to provide quality, holistic and empathetic patient care. We offer a pleasant working environment with numerous staff perks. Our team meet for coffee and lunch every day - please come in, chat to our happy team and find out what makes us great employers.

We are a founding practice of the COLTE Partnership - forming a 9 practice partnership- at scale covering 98,000 patients (www.coltepartnership.co.uk). This allows us to benefit from economies of scale and the mutual safeguarding of primary care. We are in a PCN with 2 like-minded practices through which we utilise specialist clinics within an Extended Access setting.

In summary, we offer:

  • A modern purpose-built building in the centre of the village

  • High QOF achievement

  • Good' CQC rating

  • Few visits

  • Remote working options with an onsite buddy

  • Protected time for admin

  • Regular in-house clinical meetings

  • We follow BMA recommendations for safe working (routine clinics have a maximum of 25 contacts per day)

  • Optional working in extended access

  • SystmOne practice

    Fully qualified GP with GMC registration

  • Annual appraisal and revalidation (when appropriate)

  • Be on the NHSE medical performers list

  • and skills, including:
  • Good understanding and experience of chronic disease management, and primary prevention and screening services;

  • Ability to take responsibility for your own career development, learning and performance and are responsible for ensuring that all your mandatory training is in date;

  • Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies and guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety;

  • Commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice;

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a confidential manner.

    The Colte Partnership is very much 'at the heart of primary care', being the largest GP partnership in North East Essex; comprised of 9 local GP practices across Colchester and Tendring. We care for approx. 98,000 patients. Our head office is in Feering.

  • We pride ourselves on working to be at the forefront of primary care in our region, and have many exciting ventures on the horizon.

    Each of our branches has its own character, and family friendly ethos, which is why our patients love coming to us (and tell us so in our regular patient surveys). However, being a large partnership means we can offer so much more than a local branch can by itself - with specialist clinics, social prescribing and innovative support such as regular dementia cafes, armed forces support and even child first aid classes for parents.

    We strive to look after our employees as well, with generous annual leave, flexible and family friendly working, and support during difficult times such as free counselling.
