Full Job Description

We currently have an exciting, permanent, full-time opportunity for an experienced Safeguarding Lead to join our Tutorial and Welfare team. The successful candidate will have a detailed understanding of relevant Safeguarding procedures & legislation, and will be able to apply these in context to provide support across a variety of areas for all learners and refer them as appropriate to the relevant agencies in order to remove barriers to learning.

The post-holder will be passionate about the maintenance and development of robust Safeguarding frameworks, have a good level of education, practical experience of working with young people in a Safeguarding capacity and will possess a working knowledge of IAG relating to financial, housing or welfare issues.

The Safeguarding Lead will currently hold a Designated Safeguarding Lead or equivalent qualification. The college will also support the successful candidate with specialist training relating to vulnerable young people. We have excellent links with local agencies and the local safeguarding boards to support our staff with opportunities for ongoing development and multi-agency working and the successful candidate will continue to develop these relationships.

The successful candidate will be a motivated, self-starter with the highest level of commitment to ensuring Student Safety. You will be comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary setting with a variety of stakeholders including Children's Social Care, Parents and Family and the Police. This is a learner support role and you will have exceptional communication skills both verbally and written, you will be pro-active, resourceful, and resilient with a flexible approach to working practices
