Rod Processor

We are seeking Rod Processing Operators to join our team in Port Talbot, South Wales on a temporary basis, this could potentially lead to a permanent position within the business.

We are looking for candidates who have worked within a manufacturing facility previously and are able to demonstrate responsibilities for the job below:

• Cutting rod with abrasive saw - tolerance length check


• Accurate record keeping throughout operations.


• Deburring and gauge length checks.


• Straightening rod - Mechanical or induction stretching process.


• Program and operation of automatic ingot cutting saw, cut and polish of ingot.


• Setting/Operating Precision Centreless Grinder.


• Diameter Check with precision measuring instruments.


• Straightness roll test to ensure rod is in specification.


• Accurate weighing, Cleaning, Spraying, and bundling of rod in preparation of packing.


• Monitoring extraction bins.


• Training others.

Flexibility is essential in this role and full training is available for all successful candidates.

Hourly rate: £11.79 plus shift allowance.
