Full Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic nurse or midwife to work in a range of centres across North London but also willing to work across other sites across London when required., To deliver safe and effective care of patients from admission to discharge in accordance with Healthcare Commission Standards, NMC Guidelines for Professional Practice and company policies and procedures.
Ensure the patients are aware of their options
Undertaking consultations including the discussion and confirmation of treatment options.
Carry out observations
Carry out point of care testing including pregnancy testing
Discuss contraceptive options and provide/fit contraception in accordance with guidelines NUPAS policies
Administration of drugs to patients, following NMC guidelines and NUPAS Policies and procedures
Appropriately Consenting patients for treatment/procedures.
Provide and inform patients on STI Screening
Identify safeguarding concerns.
Checking details on patient notes and alerting Doctor to any significant conditions
Ensure patients have received and completed a satisfaction survey questionnaire before discharge
Ensuring patients are informed about aftercare prior to discharge
Providing confidential telephone advice for patients with post-operative problems following discharge
Completion of contemporaneous patient records, consent and registers
Maintenance of patient safety
Maintenance of patient confidentiality and DATA protection
You will need to be able to fulfil an integral role within our multidisciplinary team delivering a confidential abortion service. You will need to be motivated, enthusiastic, caring and empathetic. Pro-choice is a must.

NUPAS attaches great importance to sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility. It is the responsibility of the post holder to minimise the NUPAS environmental impact wherever possible. This will include switching off lights, computers, monitors and other non-essential equipment when not in use. Helping to minimise business travel, reduce paper waste by minimising printing/copying, correct waste disposal, reducing water usage, reporting faults and heating/cooling concerns promptly.
The post holder will have a duty to ensure that the principles of patient, carer and public involvement and engagement are adhered to in line with Section 11 of The Health and Social Care Act 2012 for Improving Patient Experience.
All staff are required to adhere to the principles of patient centred care as detailed in the NICE Quality Standard for Patient Experience and to treat patients with dignity, kindness, compassion, courtesy, respect, understanding and honesty.
