Full Job Description

In this role you will be part of a team responsible for ensuring the day to day operations of the centre runs smoothly and efficiently, also including;

  • Advise and assist members of the public with items specifically donated or identified by site staff with a potential for reuse.

  • Keep the reuse area and shop tidy, clean and safe for use by the public.

  • Basic safety testing of electrical items intended for reuse (training will be provided)

  • Pricing of items for sale.


  • This is a public facing role where you will be engaging with members of the public whilst delivering services where you will be helping advise on disposure of waste and ensuring the site is always safe and tidy.

    Whilst previous experience in a similar waste collection or disposal role would be ideal, we are happy to offer full training to the right person, as long as you can demonstrate;
  • Experience in a similar shop-based sales assistant role.

  • Able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills.

  • Have knowledge of waste recycling.

  • Have experience dealing with the general public.

  • Full UK driving licence.

  • PAT Testing experience desirable

    £11.44 Per hour

  • 35 Hours per week

    Norse Environmental Waste Services (NEWS) are the waste and refuse management function for Norse Group, providing a full collection service across the local region.

    As we continue to deliver our frontline waste and recycling services across East Anglia, we are looking to recruit a Reuse Sales Assistant for our centre in Norwich North & South Reuse Shops

    8.45- 4.15 - Days of work are Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon & Tues every week., With the opportunity to join a fantastic team on a permanent basis, we also offer annual leave entitlement, pension scheme and statuary sickness scheme for all our staff.

    This position is being offered on a full time, permanent contract working a varied shift pattern 5over7 days per week.
