Full Job Description

We are seeking a Retail Supervisor to assist our Retail Management team in the management of our The Lore of LOVERBOY Exhibition pop-up shop from the 8th June 2024 - 1st September 2024 and for our yet to be announced December blockbuster Embankment Galleries Exhibition pop-up shop from the 22th January 2025 - 6th April 2025 as well as any other retail outlets that may arise.
The Lore of LOVERBOY will present the first ever UK exhibition of Glaswegian born designer, illustrator, stylist, radical creative, and Somerset House resident Charles Jeffrey - celebrating 10 years of his fashion house LOVERBOY. The exhibition examines Charles' sensational impact on the global fashion scene, from club to catwalk, and includes the full spectrum of his prolific output, with newly commissioned works.
This role will include leading the team of Retail Assistants on shift and assisting with administrative tasks such as reporting and stocking management. You will have management responsibility on evenings and weekends when the Retail Management team are not in the office.,

  • Managing the day to day running of our exhibition retail outlets and events, with lead responsibility on evenings and weekends


  • Supporting with any other Retail project that may arise in conjunction with our cultural programme

  • Managing the team of Retail Assistants on shift, ensuring staff are effectively occupied and breaks taken on time with sufficient cover provided

  • Assist with the training delivery for new staff and guiding the team in health and safety compliance

  • Leading by example, being welcoming and attentive to all visitors' needs and ensuring a consistently high level of customer service from the team.

  • Managing customer feedback, resolving situations or escalating where appropriate.

  • Communicating relevant information and briefings to the team and relaying feedback to Retail Management Team.

  • Overseeing re-stocking of all retail outlets, managing goods-in and stock returns

  • Assisting with fulfilment of online shop orders and stockholding management via Shopify.

  • Implementing excellent visual merchandising and display standards across retail outlets, ensuring the same flair, creativity and attention to detail from all retail team members on the shop floor.

  • Responsible for informing Security of any emergencies during a shift

  • Ensuring the team are well presented at all times and provide an excellent level of customer experience, leading by example.

    Managing a team in a retail environment, including rostering, training and supervising staff


  • Relevant IT systems such as EPOS, Shopify and CRM systems (e.g. Tessitura)

  • Experience in a customer facing role, managing feedback and resolving difficult situations

  • Leading on visual merchandising

  • Responsibility of stock management

  • Health and Safety knowledge

  • A proactive, hands-on approach, with ability to remain calm under pressure

  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
