Allianz Personal have an exciting opportunity for a Portfolio Pricing Director to join the team covering our Retail brands (LV= and Allianz) and Partnerships.

About you

The Portfolio Pricing Director - Retail will lead the team responsible for setting the retail prices for the customers of some of the biggest brands in UK Personal Lines. This is a critical role in delivering our business plan and in ensuring we deliver good customer outcomes consistently and that our products offer value for money.

You will oversee our Portfolio Pricing teams, identifying and executing trading opportunities, ensuring our portfolios are performing optimally as well as leading our R&D and Price Optimisation teams.

You will ensure that our pricing strategy is effectively executed, that our products achieve target returns and that we continuously comply with risk appetite and regulatory expectations.

Your Focus

  • Lead, motivate and develop a sustainable and diverse team of pricing professionals

  • Oversee the performance of our Retail portfolios

  • Contribute to the definition of our pricing strategy and ensure that it is effectively executed

  • Work closely with Technical Pricing to quickly identify emerging trends and execute actions accordingly

  • Oversee input into new proposition development

  • Lead the identification of trading opportunities to enhance income, profitability and quotability

  • Contribute to the transformation of our end-to-end pricing & underwriting capability towards our best-in-class ambition

  • Sponsor, lead or participate in strategic projects

  • Ensure that an appropriate control environment is effectively operated

  • Oversee AZP responses to relevant PRA / FCA requests

  • To be a member of the Pricing & Underwriting Leadership team

  • Actively participate in governance forums

  • Comply with the FCA Conduct Risk principles

    To be successful for the role you will have:

  • Extensive Personal Lines pricing experience at senior management level in the Retail channels (especially Motor and Home)

  • Excellent knowledge of the market and regulatory environment

  • Experience of operating in a technically driven pricing environment

  • Experience of leading teams using industry leading pricing software (e.g. Radar Live)

  • Significant experience of leading, motivating and managing multi-site teams

  • Highly effective stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bring multi-functional teams together across pricing, underwriting, claims, actuarial, distribution and beyond to effectively execute plans

  • Experience of overseeing complex change programmes

  • Highly commercially focused

  • Customer-centric, putting the customer at the heart of decision making and delivering pricing outcomes that are consistent with Allianz purpose and values and embedding Consumer Duty into day to day working

  • Ability to manage Executive and Board level stakeholders within Allianz UK and Group

  • Drive to deliver and able to do so through others

  • Ability to see the bigger picture

  • Ability to balance customer needs with business needs

  • Ability to make complex issues simple to understand

  • Collaborative approach with can do attitude and strong influencing skills

  • Excellent communication skills, including presenting and report writing

  • Numerate with strong analytical skills and attention to detail

  • Proactively identifies opportunities or risks and generates ideas for improvement

  • Uses initiative to manage multiple priorities

  • Educated to degree level or with relevant equivalent experience

  • Relevant professional qualification, e.g. FIA, ACII or FCII
