Full Job Description

The role of Retail and Service Assistant involves working at our retail store within Luton Airport, with a focus on retail sales as well as providing essential services to travelling passengers within the airport. Luggage Point are the premium service providing luggage and baggage services within the airport and the role of Retail and Service Assistant is a vital part of the team.

No day is ever the same in the airport and this role promises a great deal of variety, from delivering high standards of customer service, delivering retail sales to resolving passengers problems and reuniting them with missing items. This role would suit someone who enjoys working with people and can build great working relationships with a team to deliver on the key objectives for Luggage Point.

Great at communicating and leading by example

Previous supervisory experience ideally in a retail environment

Sales driven and focussed on delivering great service

Pro-active, great at organising and solving problems

Professional and understanding manner

Knowledge of IT systems, databases and operating procedures,

    Travel retail is a dynamic and exciting retail environment. Airport retailing is really fascinating, interacting with passengers every day is stimulating and varied, no 2 days are ever the same!

    Important

    To work within the airport you must be able to provide a full 5 years worth of work history as well as complete a Criminal reference check prior to starting work. You must be approved for an Airside pass and this can take some time.

  • The role will involve working at Luton Airport. Shifts are 8 hours in length covering any 5 days from 7 and could start at 4am or finish at 10pm depending on shift. Are you comfortable with these times and are you able to get to the airport using public transport? There is no staff car parking available at Luton airport.
