Full Job Description

The Barnet Post Covid service is seeking an experienced and skilled health care assistant to join the team. As we emerge from the recent pandemic the service is uniquely providing care for Long Covid patient cohorts and has embedded virtual patient care alongside patient facing activity. Applicants for this post must haverelevant health care assistant experience or demonstrate the identified desire to develop within this clinical specialty. The Post Covid service is co-located alongside the Barnet respiratory COPD, this post has the expectation of a seamless cross over between both services.

Successful applicant will provide patient facing cover across community-based outpatient clinics for Post Covid patients and Pulmonary Rehabilitation alongside other job role requirements. Successful applicant will be joining a friendly well established service team of consultant respiratory physician and other senior respiratory physiotherapists and nurses alongside the service clinical operational lead and administrators. Given this role will be delivered within the community setting and requires travel between different locations within Barnet a car owner driver is required.

    § To communicate with all members of the multi-professional team, regarding changes in the patient's condition or any other useful information.

    § To communicate effectively with patients and carers to maximise rehabilitation potential.

    § To ensure all information is obtained prior to out-patient consultation to ensure best possible patient experience.

    § Communication skills of persuasion, motivation and explanation will be needed. Barriers to effective communication will regularly be evident including cognitive impairment, breathlessness, embarrassment, anxiety, pain, fear and visual/hearing impairments. Clear and effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills will be necessary.
