Full Job Description

As the Resourcing Business Partner for the West Coast Route, you will work closely with your dedicated business area and the wider HR team to lead the design and implementation of a successful resourcing strategy. This role is crucial in ensuring our operational teams can effectively resource and provide a safe and reliable rail network.

At the forefront of promoting our business and region you will enjoy a varied role which requires strong stakeholder management, early careers engagement and developing positive relationships with a wide range of customers. In order to deliver successfully in this role, we are looking for a dynamic, experienced recruiter to deliver holistic, influential and proactive talent solutions from both the internal and external market.

Due to the geographical area of the client group, we are looking for a candidate based in or around the Milton Keynes area. We are willing to be flexible and consider applicants to be based in Birmingham, Manchester or surrounding areas but there will be an expectation to travel to ensure we are able to meet the needs of the business.

About the role (External)

Every day will be different, but you can expect to be involved in the following activities:

· Provide candidates with a best-practice experience through the efficient management of attraction, selection, and on-boarding.

· Successfully deliver an adaptable, consultative, and value-adding resourcing service, adhering to outstanding relationship management principles, and challenging and gaining acceptance from key customers.

· Lead deployment of support services within Centres of Excellence, HRSS, sourcing, and resourcing support, defining specific deliverables and timescales wherever appropriate.

· Collaborate to integrate a flawless resourcing service alongside broader talent strategy, with a particular emphasis on L&D, succession planning and reward.

· Collaborate with colleagues in HR and the client group to determine medium to long-term talent requirements and skill shortages, developing appropriate strategic resourcing solutions in response.

· Continuously seek to improve the service, including deeper client expertise, more efficient process management and greater attraction and assessment accuracy.

· Liaise with Resourcing Business Partners across the wider business to work collaboratively on cross business/geographical issues.

  • Demonstrable strong business/commercial approach and understanding of business needs

  • Demonstrable experience of working in partnership, building strong working relationships with senior managers to improve resourcing delivery

  • A passion for customer service with ability to articulate previous achievements through business results

  • Knowledge and experience of implementing standard methodology recruitment solutions to drive a valuable service

  • Experience of influencing senior managers

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to negotiate and influence effectively with all levels of an organisation

  • Understanding of how to work with the business to identify, build and implement appropriate resourcing solutions

    You will be part of the NW&C Region which consist of three routes:

    · North West Route, covering Manchester, Liverpool, Lancashire and Cumbria.

    · Central Route, covering the West Midlands and Chiltern areas.

    · West Coast South Route, covering the south of Crewe to London Euston.

    There is also a Regional Team which supports Regional Major Programmes & Professional services.
