RESIDENTIAL CHILDCARE PRACTITIONER

· To provide care and support to our children & young people in accordance with policies and procedures and practice a Therapeutic Parenting approach to delivering the role.

· To contribute to the assessment process for young people and be involved with on-going support programs in conjunction with other key employees.

· To always ensure positive support to children & young people.

· To attend planning and review meetings where appropriate.

· To participate in a key person system.

· To ensure relevant reports are kept in addition to appropriate record keeping information collection and exchange.

· To work within a shift system including night duty.

· To undertake health & safety checks and other safety/security checks as necessary.

· To participate in on-going training as directed for the maintenance and development of relevant skills for the successful delivery of your duties.

· To implement de-escalation and physical intervention strategies as necessary and appropriate in line with mandatory training.

· Promote young peoples' participation, to ensure young people are actively involved in the environment and day to day activities of the home.

· To comply with the code of conduct as required by the SSSC.

· To be fully aware of safeguarding and child protection issues.

· To fully understand the reporting process of child protection within service.

· To understand the principles of safeguarding young people, staff, and self.

· To have a full understanding of the emergency call out procedures of the house.

· To promote structure, boundaries, and domestic routines within the house.

· Participate in, and complete records for statutory reviews and meetings concerning the children & young people were required.

· Undertake relevant training programs as required by the Company, SSSC & National Care Standards and be responsive to own personal development.

· Contribute to the maintenance of a safe, hygienic, and clean environment.

SVQ Level 3 / HNC in Social Care desirable!

PVG & SSSC Registration within 3 months is essential for this role!

UK Driving Licence is essential!,

At Greenleaf House, we have permanent, full-time (at 40h pw) and part-time contracts available… This role means working 14-hour shifts always followed by a sleepover on a pattern of 2 days on & 3 days off. Can you commit to this working pattern?, Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
