Full Job Description

You'll strategically manage all aspects of the reservations department for the hotel. Using the historical and forecast information to maximise occupancy, revenue, and yield in line with company procedure. To encourage and develop the team to also maximise revenue opportunities through training and coaching

  • To ensure that all sales enquiries are dealt with in a proactive manner, and converted to confirmed bookings, to the agreed Company standards.

  • Understanding the historical business and reviewing and refreshing the Hotel's sales selling strategy and letting policy and promotions.

  • Ensure weekly competitor rate checks are carried out to ensure the hotel price point in the market is competitive.

  • Ensure 52 weeks daily pricing is set and reviewed on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.

  • To ensure that all reservations are directly inputted onto the PMS computer system, and maintenance of an accurate filling system.

  • Ensure that correspondence checks are carried out to the company standard on a daily basis.

  • Ensure team is aware of referral procedures, when denying enquiries.

  • Ensure that no shows and cancellation charges are dealt with daily.

  • Work closely with hotel finance team to ensure all processes and policies are adhered to with regards to charging and invoicing.

  • To be involved in converting business and generating sales through show rounds and 'Fam Trips'

  • Ensure that rooms & M&E business is being logged daily, weekly and monthly by the Reservation/M&E team.

  • To develop with the GM and reservations/M&E teams a year planner, therefore identifying and managing seasonal peaks and business trends. Therefore, maximising yield, and achieving rooms budget.

  • Ensure that weekly forecast is pulled together and reviewed and sent to Group Revenue Manager before submission.

  • To help identify market trends and co-ordinate sales activities accordingly, with the GM & Central Sales/ Revenue.

  • To take an active role in annual budgeting process and development of the Sales Action Plan, with the GM.

  • To ensure that a professional appearance and manner, is shown to all visitors, resulting in positive PR both internally and externally of the Sales Team.

    A self-motivated, driven, results-orientated and proactive attitude is required.

  • Reservations Management experience at 4-star level

  • A self-motivated, driven, results-orientated and proactive attitude is required.

  • Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

  • Fluency in English language, both verbally and in writing.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and mentoring skills.

  • Knowledge of all market segments and total sales revenues.

  • Experience of working within a white label independent hotel environment.

  • Strong organisational skills, effective decision-making skills, problem solving skills.
