Full Job Description

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow (PDRF) to conduct carbon footprint analysis of end user computing information and communications technology (ICT) used in commercial, public and third sector organisations.

You will be joining the Department of Computer Science, University of Warwick, which has previous experience in the field of ICT carbon footprint analysis and GHG emissions abatement impact research The goal of the project is to conduct ICT carbon footprint impact projects within working environments to improve practices and to substantiate the abatement caused by sustainable ICT practices.

You will be strongly interacting with end users (stakeholders in commercial, public and third sectors), computer eco certification organisations and global technology vendors and manufacturers therefore need a mature and in-depth understanding of ICT carbon footprint analysis and calculation.

The role requires a PhD in computer science focusing on the field of sustainable information and communications technology. You will have a strong background in computer product life cycle assessment plus carbon footprint analysis, calculation and the development of ICT carbon footprint applications. A proven track record of conducting scientific impact research projects focused upon ICT GHG abatement.

The Department of Computer Science is one of the top-ranking computing departments in the UK. In the most recent research evaluation exercise, published in 2014, the Department was ranked 2nd out of 89 UK computing departments
