Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Repairs Helpline Operator. Our response team play a vital part in our life changing service, making a real difference to our customers by providing support and reassurance which helps people live life to the full in their place of choice. This is a part time, Fixed Term contract for 4 months., As our Repairs Helpline Operator you will be responsible for handling housing repair calls from a variety of customers, ensuring correct procedures are followed and appropriate contractors called. You will also respond to calls received from service users to ensure that they provide reassurance, comfort, and assistance in a calm and friendly manner at all times.,

  • Take calls and operate all procedures in accordance with customers pre-agreed criteria,

  • Identify on selection of any call, if the repair is an emergency and which procedure will be required to deal with any situation quickly and efficiently,

  • Report to the management team any malfunction on Response Centre equipment,

  • Deal with calls made to the out of hours repairs desk, passing on repairs to the nominated contractor,

  • Achieve the required quality standard on calls in line with TSA standards,

  • Log details accurately and update all systems,

  • Ensure the housing association etc. is made aware of all emergency calls passed,

  • Complete administrative duties accurately, ensuring all paperwork and records are kept in an orderly fashion including updating relevant systems and spreadsheets filing, shredding, scanning,

  • Action any repair requests taken by Response Operators,

  • Attend team meetings as and when required.

    You will be a great listener, calm and collected, able to confidently communicate over the phone and have a reassuring tone and empathetic nature., Confident IT user and proficient in using customer service software and databases,

  • Strong data entry skills,

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills at all levels,

  • Excellent telephone manner,

  • Strong grasp of the English language both verbally and in writing,

  • Ability to work calmly and accurately under pressure,

  • Professional attitude,

  • Patience and empathy when dealing with customers,

  • High attention to detail and accuracy in completing documentation.
