Removals Porter

An opportunity to work in the ever changing industry that is Removals has arisen in our company Britannia Smeeton Panton
We are a small family run Removals, Storage and shipping company that are part of the Britannia Movers group and we are looking for a new porter to come and join our diverse work force.
Every working day is different with different customers and different requirements and I can guarantee that no two days will be the same!
Your job role will require all of your strength to lift heavy sofas through awkward doors and lifting heavy wardrobes down narrow stairs, so thinking on your feet is a must! I won't even mention the American Fridge Freezers!!
General working hours are 7.30am-4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 7.30am4pm Friday, but if keys are late then so are you!! Overtime hours will be paid at time and a half before and after the times mentioned previously. Your wages will be paid weekly and staff pensions are also paid.
If you're lucky enough to have a night away from depot on the job , you will get an allowance to help with McDonald's or Wetherspoon's !
We offer in house training to show you how to lift properly and after an initial 3 month probationary period, we send you off for a BAR accredited course to learn you how to pack and export like a professional !
If forklift driving is of interest, we can put you through a test so you can load our lorries with wooden storage containers and also take delivery for our packing materials.
If you fancy being a lorry driver after all of the above options have been achieved then we can also assist with this and let you loose in our lorries.
