Full Job Description

CHD Rehabilitation services are seeking highly motivated individuals who are keen to expand their skills and knowledge as a rehabilitation assistant.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a specialist multidisciplinary team to develop your skills in neuro rehabilitation. You will work alongside, and under the supervision of a highly specialist physiotherapist, speech and language therapist, and occupational therapist. You will also have day to day contact with other professionals including the psychology team, specialist nurses, and the neurorehabilitation consultant.

The rehabilitation assistant role is to assist the qualified therapists in delivering a specialist occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, and physiotherapy service to patients at Bagshot Neurorehabilitation Centre. This further includes undertaking clerical and household tasks as necessary to maintain smooth day to day running of the therapy services.

At CHD we deliver comprehensive, neurological rehabilitation packages which include complex nursing care, intensive therapy packages, long term disability management and slow-stream rehabilitation. This is an opportunity to work with a diverse and complex caseload, which include individuals with prolonged disorders of consciousness, traumatic brain injury, acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury and progressive neurological conditions.

You will have an opportunity to participate in regular in-service training, with access to specialist courses as required to meet your personal development plan. You will be supervised by an experienced physiotherapist, and more widely supported by the onsite multi-disciplinary team.

Knowledge and Skills

a) Some knowledge of neurological conditions

b) Experience in the Moving & Handling of people with complex needs

c) Ability to receive and communicate information accurately.
