Full Job Description

To be responsible for developing and increasing income from new and existing donors through regular giving, campaigns, appeals and direct marketing initiatives. The role will encompass donor development, supporter acquisition and retention, through research and relationship building, combining a target driven approach with a caring and empathetic manner.

Principle Responsibilities

· As the Regular Giving Officer you will be required to co-develop and deliver CancerCare's Regular Giving and Lottery strategy which focuses on the recruitment and retention of supporters.

· You will be responsible for regular giving, campaigns, lottery and digital giving and their operational plans

· Deliver and review donor stewardship to ensure regular donors and lottery members are thanked regularly and informed of the difference they are making to the charity, as well as other ways they are able to support us.

· Identify gaps in the existing regular giving fundraising portfolio, look for areas to develop the lottery to keep up to date with other UK lotteries, and test new ways of engaging new and existing supporters.

· Be responsible for interim/post campaign reports and produce Key Performance Indicators making recommendations to support future activity.

· Track lottery income against targets, highlighting any issues and trends accordingly

· Manage partnership with 3rd party Lottery agency, Starvale Technologies Ltd.

· Support the development and delivery of regular seasonal prize draws, maximizing sales and awareness.

· Work with the Head of Fundraising and Marketing to ensure compliance with the Gambling Act 2005.

· Ensuring that the Lottery Codes and Conditions of Practice of the Gambling Act 2005 are adhered to for all lottery related products.

· Work with the Marketing and Communications Officer, and Head and Deputy Head of Fundraising to promote regular giving, the weekly lottery and lottery super-draws, including the production of promotional material to raise awareness that is motivational and informative to help supporters understand the challenges.

· Work with the Marketing and Communications Officer, Head and Deputy Head of Fundraising to develop press releases, social media activity and website posts to promote regular giving to generate funds.

· Ensure that CancerCare's lottery is represented at fundraising events by volunteers or the 3rd party canvasser

· Create, test, evaluate and refine CancerCare's propositions, ensuring they get results and effectively convey the difference donors' support is making.

· Obtain powerful case studies and other project based resources from others (eg photography & video) for the development of content for supporters

· Work closely with all departments in CancerCare and its volunteers in order to understand service delivery and funding needs.

· Work alongside and support the rest of the fundraising team and liaise closely with the Marketing and Communications Officer, Executive Leadership Team and Trustees

· Develop and maintain an understanding of the supporter base, working with the Quality & Information Officer to inform segmentation and targeting through data analysis. Ensure data selections and reports from Beacon database are delivered.

· Build working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including community and corporate supporters, solicitors, trustees, voluntary groups, regular donors, clients and their families in order to achieve financial targets.

· Work closely with the Head of Fundraising and Marketing to develop and grow regular giving.

· Work alongside the Individual Giving Officer to deliver training for staff, volunteers and therapists to enable them to promote the importance of Gift Aid and to increase Gift Aid income

· Work with client services to promote and increase client donations

· Contribute to organisation effectiveness through positivity and pro-activity

· Manage own workload and time, recording daily activity using appropriate software eg Microsoft Outlook

· Have a flexible approach to work patterns in line with the needs of the role

· Participate in staff training, team meetings and events as requested

· Comply with CancerCare's organisational policies

· Act in accordance with CancerCare's values and to promote the mission and vision of the charity at all times

Undertake any other duties as determined by the Executive Leadership Team
