We're looking for someone who is comfortable working at pace and being responsive to changing priorities.

You're expected to use your initiative to spot potential risks and address problems.

Recruitment is innately people-focused so you need to be confident talking to candidates and hiring managers via email, phone and in-person.

The Recruitment Officer role is varied and will give you the opportunity to grow your skills and experience of recruitment best practice as well as working in a positive team and for a business to be proud of.

The team

Our busy recruitment team support hiring managers to attract, select and welcome talented people who share our business's passion for service and making a real difference!

Recruitment Officers manage 30+ vacancies each simultaneously (from across the UK), through a digital platform, so organisation and prioritisation are key skills.

The team aim to fill all roles by directly attracting applicants via job boards and networks.

Recruitment Officers place adverts, screen candidates, organise assessments and coordinate interviews.

We make offers to successful candidates and organise their on-boarding so the experience of candidates, especially those becoming employees, is at the heart of the service we provide.,

  • Manage direct application candidate pool, including current applicants and communication with previous applicants.

  • Telephone pre-screening candidates

  • Set up interviews

  • Give feedback to candidates

  • Administer online assessments to shortlisted candidates

  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for a range of roles across the UK to include - advertising, candidate generation, pre-screening applications, offers and candidate management.

  • Utilise social media sites such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Job Boards and CV mining to maximize direct attraction channels

  • Advise hiring managers on recruitment process and best practice.

  • Maintain accurate and up to date records on our Candidate Management System (iCIMs)

  • Ensure a positive candidate experience at all stages of the recruitment process

  • Investigate and promote cost effective advertising options

  • Represent apetito at careers fairs and events

  • Provide timely data for Recruitment KPIs

  • Help with occasional Reception relief rota

  • Support the wider HR team as required

    Recruitment experience and working knowledge of employment law (including right to work checks) is an advantage but not essential.


  • You will work from our Trowbridge head-office at least 3 days a week, with the option to work from home up to 2 days per week- once fully trained and competent to work independently., Essential:
  • Confident communicating with the public and internal customers- including by phone

  • Administration experience

  • Confident using Microsoft Office applications and data bases

  • Experience organising a complex workload including multiple 'cases' with conflicting deadlines

  • Initiative to take action and solve problems

  • Experience working in a team towards shared goals


  • Desirable:
  • Experience working in a recruitment team or service (in-house or agency)

  • Working knowledge of right to work checks

  • Working knowledge of employment law and recruitment best practice
