Full Job Description

As a Receptionist, you will have a role that is out of the ordinary. You'll act as a first point of contact and front-of-house for our newly modernised research & development facility. You'll undertake a range of reception duties across the business, always presenting a positive image of QinetiQ and ensuring that processes and procedures are followed.

Day-to-day, you will:

  • Deliver exceptional reception services and assist both internal and external customers with a welcoming and professional attitude

  • Efficiently manage and support complex visitor bookings and groups, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and security protocols

  • Maintain and organise records, manage a high volume of calls and emails, and ensure accurate message capture and communication

  • Assist in organising meetings and events, including booking rooms, catering, and resources, while liaising effectively with hosts

  • Produce, store, and retrieve Microsoft Office documents accurately; handle mail and goods following standard security procedures

  • Contribute to an agile Operations team, provide cover during holidays or sickness, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement


  • This role is a full-time position based at our Fort Halstead site 5 days a week., Please note that all applicants must hold, or be able to achieve for Security Clearance as a minimum.

    Essential Experience of the Receptionist:
  • Previous experience in a customer facing role

  • High-level business support and administration or previous receptionist experience

  • Previous experience delivering excellent customer service


  • Qualifications for the Receptionist:
  • Computer literacy with a good working knowledge of Microsoft word and Outlook

  • Proven literacy, written and communication skills
