Full Job Description

The opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our friendly team of admin staff within the Emergency Department at Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.

The role requires you to contribute to the provision of health care to patients and relatives by providing a comprehensive and confidential clerical support in relation to emergency attendances and admissions. This service is provided 24 hours each day, throughout the whole year. At all times, the appropriate systems, procedures, policies and processes should be followed.,

  • Providing full reception service on both the Majors and Minors Desks to patients, visitors and staff

  • To ensure all patients are booked, transferred, admitted and discharged correctly throughout their journey in the Emergency Care Centre. The ability to use Myrddin is essential

  • To input and extract data from Myrddin

  • To undertake full clerical duties following office procedures to ensure the smooth running of the whole of the Emergency Care Centre. This will include undertaking ward clerk duties.

  • To co-ordinate appointments

  • Up-dating Myrddin with regards to patients being transferred and discharged on the wards.

    Ideally, you will have clerical experience within a healthcare environment, experience in using Health Board systems and be a motivated team player, as well as an excellent communicator., The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
