Join Our Team at Stamford Schools

The Stamford Schools are now looking for a Receptionist to assist on the front desk at our St Paul's site. If you have experience in a similar role, and have great customer service skills, then we are keen to speak with you.

The successful candidate will the be the first point of contact for all visitors and callers to the Stamford School site. The receptionist will manage all aspects of the reception area, always maintaining a professional and welcoming approach. They will manage the pupil attendance systems including registers and associated email traffic, including monitoring the absence line, recording and forward transfer of messages. Therefore, knowledge in IT skills and using various databases is essential.

Applicants should have previous experience of working in a front-line customer facing role and have a proven track record of delivering a consistent level of high-quality customer service.

The St Paul's site is our Secondary School, so experience working with year 7-11 students would be beneficial.

Position: Receptionist (St Paul's Site)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and direct all incoming telephone calls, answering promptly, efficiently and representing the School in a positive way at all times.

  • Provide a welcoming first point of contact for visitors, maintaining a tidy and efficient reception area.

  • Issue visitor passes as required, log all visitors, including contractors, to the site using the approved system, ensuring that visitors are aware of any health and safety and safeguarding requirements during their visit.

  • Liaise with the Stamford School Admissions Team ensuring an awareness of anticipated visitors and arrangements for their welcome.

  • Assist with general administrative tasks as directed including, updating pupil details on iSAMS, school trips, sporting events, learning support administration, absences and holidays and using school systems.

  • Manage the pupil attendance systems including registers and associated email traffic, including monitoring the absence line, recording and forward transfer of messages.


  • Requirements:
  • Good standard of general education.

  • GCSE English and Mathematics.

  • Previous experience of working in a front-line customer facing role.

  • Ability to understand the operating environment and the needs and expectations of our parents, pupils, colleagues, and other external contacts.

  • Possess a good level of IT skills including Word, Excel Outlook and other databases.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
