Full Job Description

If you re an experienced and ambitious Quantity Surveyor, this hugely successful Global Consultancy are looking to appoint a number of Consultants to work on a variety of unique major infrastructure projects in the South East, Oxfordshire and Berkshire.

The team is involved in some of the UK s most complex and stimulating projects. They have an enviable reputation in the delivery of major schemes, and are working closely with Clients in the Defence, Rail, Aviation, Highways, Environmental, Nuclear, Pharmaceutical and Energy/Renewables sectors.

There is currently the need to provide Commercial and Procurement Services (pre and post contract) to the MoD and a number of its research and development agencies on major infrastructure build and long-term enhancement programmes.

You will typically join the Clients Management Team and advise on the most effective and judicious delivery of large investment programmes, generating the best possible supply chain for each project and ensuring the programmes are delivered successfully.

Typical tasks below:

1. Leadership and Management

  • Adhere to client Guiding Principles

  • Promote strong working relationships both within the team and with other parts of the functions


  • 2. Delivery of a wide and varied portfolio of contracts
  • Manage commercial activity.

  • Input to Procurement Strategies and develop commercial strategy and associated contracting strategy.

  • Compile and issue tenders

  • Negotiate and place contracts.

  • Amend and manage contracts and contract changes.

  • Provide commercial advice and guidance as required.

  • Ensure all commercial activity represents best value for money.

  • Ensure compliance with regulations and policy as well as best practice.


  • 3. Commercial Scrutiny and assurance
  • Scrutiny and analysis of commercial strategies and contracting proposals.

  • Identify and manage Risks and Issues


  • 4. Stakeholder Engagement
  • Work closely with project and other acquisition team members to deliver Customer requirements.


  • Manage a range of stakeholder engagements within the Client.

  • Engage stakeholders on planning, tendering, contracting and contract administration.

    Essential:

  • Management of NEC contracts and strong commercial acumen


  • Desirable:
  • Experience of implementing and working in a collaborative environment

  • Development of Joint project Teams

  • Budgeting and cost control


  • QUALIFICATIONS

    Essential:
  • Management of NEC Contracts


  • Desirable:
  • Relevant chartered professional with minimum 5 years post qualification experience

  • NEC Accreditation


  • Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role.
