Full Job Description

The QS position involves assisting in the commercial function and reporting on projects, particularly related to cladding remediation. Responsibilities include reviewing third-party cost plans, monitoring project costs, evaluating contractor performance, liaising with external consultants, and collaborating with internal departments. Key tasks include reviewing cost plans and tender returns, scheduling and quantifying materials and labor, commercial management activities such as forecasting and budgeting, monitoring and reporting costs, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Regular site visits and attendance at meetings are also expected.

This role will be contracted to Head Office in High Wycombe and will require occasional attendance for team meetings. On a day-to-day basis this role can be a remote/hybrid role.

What you will do:

  • Scheduling and quantifying materials and labour

  • Review of 3rd party cost plans and tender returns

  • Assist in WIP and cash flow forecasting.

  • Monitor, reconcile and recharge any costs, which relate to shared cost items with either other businesses within the Group or external Companies.

  • Calculate all the prime costs on developments within your remit, reporting any movements in the costs since the preparation of the funding exercise.

  • Monitor and report costs

  • Be aware of all codes of practice that impact on estimating e.g. Building Regulations, NHBC requirements, HSE etc.

  • Communicate well and collaborate

  • Be passionate about customers, The type of checks made will depend on the role in question but may include any or all the following:

  • Criminal records (DBS);

  • Credit reference

  • DVLA
