Full Job Description

  • manage all aspects of pre and post-contract duties for major projects

  • manage contract change, opportunity and risk, payment applications and final accounts, in addition to carrying out project forecasting and reporting

  • work closely with other team members, such as Project Managers, Designers, Engineers and Estimators, as well as attending regular financial meetings with senior members of staff

  • work to financial targets and deadlines, interpret project programmes, understand risk, and react to the demands of construction delivery to ensure the best value for the company.

    As a self-sufficient Quantity Surveyor, you will have previous experience delivering key infrastructure schemes and will have worked within the water industry or a similar industry environment.


  • To succeed in this role, you should ideally have:
  • quantity surveying experience in the construction industry, preferably with experience in the NEC Suite of Contracts

  • completed a degree in quantity surveying or a similar construction-related qualification

  • membership to the RICS/ICES (desirable but not essential)

  • strong attention to detail, self-motivation, a problem-solving nature and a drive to succeed

  • the ability to interpret technical/design details to assist in problem-solving and valuing engineering options as appropriate

  • experience with change and risk management, as well as tender and final account negotiation skills

  • good people skills, including leadership skills and the ability to foster professional relations with others

  • a strong customer focus, while also being a team player

  • a sound knowledge of health and safety related to the role.
