Full Job Description

You will be working as part of the Quality Department, the team deals with inspection of new model and production parts, product
containment, testing and measuring parts, identifying potential problems before they occur and implementing processes to stop them
occurring, assessing and responding to customer and internal concerns, liaising directly with customers.,

  • Liaising with customers at either the customer's sites or ours.

  • Completion of 8D / 5Y reports as required by the customer.

  • Establishing countermeasures to problems and issues by installing error proofing items and systems to stop problems

  • Continuous improvement, reviewing processes then planning to improve efficiency and quality.

  • Liaising with internal departments to resolve quality issues.

  • Liaising with suppliers to resolve quality issues.

  • Investigation of quality issues.

  • Evaluate and confirm test and measurement data.

  • Product confirmation.

  • Complete relevant documentation, which includes check sheets and dimensional reports.

  • Levels of paperwork will need to be understood and completed clearly and concisely.

  • Keeping areas clean and tidy 3S (Housekeeping).

  • Able to spot a range of defects in parts easily.

  • Supporting production when required.

    Good communication skills (verbal and written).

  • Good understanding, and experience, of implementing corrective actions.

  • Experience in the use of inspection equipment such as Vernier's and micrometers.

  • Experience in other measurement techniques such as CMM, colour mapping, hardness testing, macro testing, etc.

  • Good eye for detail.

  • Full driving licence.

  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.

  • Experience of working to targets / timing.

  • Good computers skills.

  • Auditing experience desirable but not essential.

  • Experience of working in a quality-engineering role, use of six sigma principles.

  • Engineering qualification desirable.

  • Experience of working to IATF 16949 desirable.
