At the forefront of modern farming and food production, G's is one of the largest fresh produce providers in the UK, producing over one billion packs of healthy products a year. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Purchasing Manager to join our central Purchasing Team to support the business in the co-ordination and sourcing of goods and services with a view to attaining maximum value with consideration to price, delivery, quality, quantity, and customer service. Reporting to the Purchasing Director you will play an integral role in the company's procurement and purchasing operation and be responsible for aligning delivery with the overall business strategy. Key responsibilities for our Purchasing Manager: Take the reins of the in-house team. Spearhead our evolution by identifying and executing continuous improvement initiatives. With a current spend budget of approximately £30 million, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing profit contribution and driving growth. Implement standardised and centralised governance and negotiate contracts effectively to maximise value across the supply chain. Design and implement robust processes, procedures, and tools to ensure optimal value, quality, and performance from our suppliers. Strengthen our supply base and streamline all categories across the group. Lead and manage the entire procurement/buying process, from sourcing to negotiation, contracting, and supplier relationship management. Reporting to Purchasing Director & Head of Procurement Development to establish the company's overall business strategy. Candidate requirements: A proven track record of advancing procurement functions, coupled with progressive experience with suppliers. Exceptional understanding of food support services, coupled with procurement services in all three categories. Ability to effectively lead a team, developing and executing strategies with a hands-on approach. Excellent negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills. Demonstrable ability to implement procurement strategies that drive cost savings and operational efficiency. Outstanding communication and people skills to collaborate and influence across complex stakeholder groups. Ability to present complex data clearly. Certification at CIPS Level 4 is preferred, displaying your commitment to excellence in procurement. Proficient in Analytical tools - Power BI, Monday.com, Excel, Microsoft, JDE would be an advantage.
