Are you looking to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people? We are seeking a passionate and motivated applicant for a Project Worker position in our independent Child Protection Conference Advocacy Service.

The Service is commissioned by Rotherham Local Authority and works closely with Social Care to support children and young people to engage and fully participate in their Child Protection Conference process.

You will ensure that children and young people are given the opportunity to express their wishes and feelings and have their voice heard and represented at their Child Protection Conferences.

You will provide advocacy support individually with children from aged 8 and above in a variety of settings including the family home, schools, and community locations.

Applicants should be committed, enthusiastic, motivated and have excellent communication skills and be able to quickly establish and build positive working relationships with children and young people. You will have direct practice experience working with children and young people and understand the importance of independent Advocacy.

The post is for 30 hours per week, with the potential option for this to be increased dependent upon service and staffing needs. Days of the week to be negotiated with the successful candidate.

Experience of working with children and young people and knowledge and understanding of advocacy within the child protection conference process is essential.

Access to a private vehicle with business insurance is essential as the successful candidate will be expected to travel in and around Rotherham and transport children and young people when required to conferences.
