Full Job Description
The Project and Escalation Manager acts as a focal point for internal partners and the customer to develop and provide end to end project creation and support for larger projects attached to the Global contract. Additionally, the PM will be the focal point owner for any major incidents that may occur during the day to day running of the contract. They will be part of a large Global Service Desk that supports our long standing global financial customer.
Objectives of the role:
To achieve a smooth transition from sales to delivery using known and effective methodologies eg Global Method and IT Service Management
To manage, coordinate and deliver a new or enhanced MPS solution to the customer
Act upon and resolve issues quickly and effectively with internal and external partners
To manage expectations to agreed project milestones and deliverables.
To manage the defined MPS deployment budget to ensure cost effective delivery of the project
To identify and manage customer and HP risks in respect of the MPS deployment project
To establish and enable effective communication links between the customer and the MPS deployment parties to facilitate successful deployment of MPS
What will you be doing:
Escalation Management and handling
Managing escalations, ensuring that they are logged, progressed, updated, authorised, expedited, and resolved within the agreed timeframes
Own and issue all communications during an escalation, both internally to HP management and to the customer
Chairing conference calls with relevant participants including senior management, driving investigation and recovery activity via action plans
Ensuring that appropriate internal and vendor/supplier escalation occurs
Identifying appropriate timelines and targets for recovery actions, feedback, and

- Operation and customer support experience
- Project Management experience
- ITIL Foundation Certification or working towards accreditation (preferred)
- PMP certification or working towards accreditation (preferred)
- Prince2 certification or working towards accreditation
- Risk management skills
- Change management skills
- Strong planning skills
- Communication skills: ability to communicate at highest levels within an organization; employ active listening skills and ability to adjust messages to audience level
- Negotiation skills
- Problem-solving skills (proactive, reactive, and creative)
- Experience working with delivery partners and subcontractors
- Customer relationship skills
- Relationship Development
- Fluent in English
- Degree qualified
- Effective presentation skills (speaking effectively, adjusting messages to audience level)
- Business/technical analysis skills. Technical awareness and ability to interpret and translate technical documentation and conversations
- Knowledge or experience of network management and handling network related projects.
- A strong track record in Project Management gained through significant proven experience of managing complex IT projects, with recognized Project Certifications (eg PMP, PMI, Prince2)
