Would you like to work for an award-winning boatbuilding company based in waterside offices
near Falmouth, Cornwall - the perfect destination for sailors, surfers and beach lovers?
Cockwells is globally respected in the marine industry and at the forefront of designing and
building luxury motor launches and superyacht tenders. We cleverly integrate traditional
boatbuilding skills with innovative engineering and modern techniques to build vessels of the
highest quality.
We're looking for a full time Project Manager to come and join our team, working 40 hours from
Monday to Friday., As our Project Manager, you will work with the existing Tender Production team to achieve the
successful delivery of tender projects to an agreed schedule and budget, and to a high-quality
standard.
We would love to hear from you if you are well organised, computer literate, have excellent
communication skills and a flexible "can-do" attitude.
Ideally, you will be from a manufacturing background. Experience in the marine industry will be
a significant advantage but is not essential.
- Managing the project through each stage of the project lifecycle; Initiation - Build -
- Checking of drawings when received from the Technical team for materials required and
- Updating or adjusting the bill for materials and allocating a timeframe for ordering
- Ensuring teams have clear defined jobs lists and parts on site
- Consulting with Design, PM team and Boatbuilders to find solutions to custom design
- Liaising with Purchasing team to order materials within the allocated timeframe,
- Managing the build to time & budget
- Ensure that all quality checks have been actioned and evidenced
- Managing the teams working on the project & identifying resources required
- Managing Dependencies with other supply teams i.e. laminating, engineering, paint
Previous composite boat building knowledge - Project Management experience, preferably within the marine sector
- Experienced in PMO reporting i.e. status reporting, risks & issues escalation, milestone
- Experience in leading and managing people, with the confidence to give direction to a
- Must be experienced in planning and setting up projects from start, running workshops
- Computer literate in all Office applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint as standard
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills with ability to multi-task
- Pro-active, adaptable with a willingness to learn new skills and take on new challenges
- Driving license - UK, clean
- Knowledge of Health and Safety guidelines
- Previous experience in Quality Management oversight or process management will be
