Project Manager

This will be a hybrid role based both at home and with regular days spent with colleagues and partners across Greater Manchester. The role will be based at the National Trust's Manchester Hub on Oxford Street in the heart of the city-centre.

Due to the nature of the work we do and the experiences we offer you will occasionally need to work evenings and be happy to travel. Your time and expenses would be reimbursed in-line with National Trust policies.

What you'll be doing:You'll be a crucial part of two teams: the North West operational team and the urban team. You'll work strategically and closely with the Manchester urban team and partners, to identify opportunities and lead on the development and delivery of a range of projects that engage urban audiences with nature, beauty and history.

Day to day you might project manage the creation of a new green space, attend a partnership project board to share expertise and shape urban developments for people and nature, or design and run new partnership events across the city-region to connect communities with green space and heritage.

You'll be comfortable researching, developing and making the case for new initiatives, seeking resource to enable delivery and building lots of networks with external organisations to bring our plan to life.

As a Project Manager you will lead collaborative project teams, and report to the Board, coordinating all elements of the ongoing implementation and evaluation of selected projects.

You'll also have the chance to work with colleagues across the North West properties to support and advise on their ambitions for community and urban work. You'll provide some support and coordination of the Greater Manchester Programme and work with colleagues the urban team to support and share learning across parallel projects and programmes.

• Strong project management skills with good understanding of the project life cycles, processes, and governance requirements


• Experience of developing and delivering projects in partnership with stakeholders, communities, and of securing funding


• Excellent communication skills and proven ability to work flexibly and collaboratively to manage relationships with a variety of internal teams and external partners at all levels


• Problem-solving skills, able to make decisions and drive multiple projects forward to deliver positive outcomes


• A critical eye, with a head for translating and using data and research to shape practise, and experience of evaluating work


• Ideally, experience of leading on and successfully implementing urban, nature-based or green infrastructure projects


• Working towards or has the desire to work towards a recognised project (AMP PMQ/Prince) or programme management (MSP) qualification.

Hours: 4.5 days per week (0.9FTE). Those hours could be flexible over 5 days or condensed into 4.

Salary: FTE £36,621pa Actual £32,958pa
