Full Job Description

A Programmes Monitoring Officer is required to support the delivery of this programme. In this role, you will work closely with the Contract Manager to ensure first checks of due diligence can be undertaken on all beneficiaries before Grant Funding agreements are issued. You will be responsible for the first checks on all claims received from the grant beneficiary to process, check, and chase evidence to ensure compliance defrayal before preparing and making payments, using the internal processing system, in line with internal Audit requirements and Council Standing Orders.

You should therefore be an effective communicator, able to cover a range of spoken and written communication including, exchanging information/building relationships; giving advice and guidance; counselling, negotiating, and persuading and handling private, confidential and sensitive information. You should also have good analytical skills and be able to collate and analyse the facts needed to solve problems creatively; developing practical solutions; applying problem solving strategies and managing interpersonal relationships.
As a minimum you should be

  • Educated to BTEC Higher or appropriate professional qualifications to NVQ 4 or equivalent.

  • Able to demonstrate experience in a financial and administrative capacity in the public, private, community or voluntary sector. Plus, one year's experience of setting up and administering complex monitoring systems, analysing data and presenting results to include experience of progress chasing or auditing projects.
