Full Job Description

As a Production Engineer, you will provide support for all manufacturing processes for new and existing products and commissioned plant and equipment; ensuring production methods used are the most suitable in terms of safety, quality, efficiency, cost and volume. You will operate a continual improvement methodology, driven from various data sources including overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), corrective and preventative action (CAPA) and new product introduction (NPI).

What you'll be doing

  • Assist operators to problem solve manufacturing and production issues.

  • Use various data sources to continually improve manufacturing and production processes.

  • Ensure new product introduction (NPI) and corrective and preventative actions (CAPA's) are completed.

  • Close out the lessons learnt feedback during production introduction and or steady state.

  • Review, update and create, where necessary, all production supporting documentation i.e. standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions (WIs), operator training documentation.

  • Design, develop and manufacture tooling, jigs and poke yoke fixtures for all processes to aid efficient production.

  • Ensure all routings, product structures, set / run times, and unit lengths etc. are constantly updated.

  • Create and update control plans to ensure product conformity throughout the manufacturing process.

  • Complete pre high volume production, development work of the new products to confirm design and ensure correct tooling is available and recorded.

  • Ensure tooling and fixtures are available to allow the production schedule to be fulfilled immediately.

  • Utilising the company's CRM system you will share, communicate and control documentation and information.

  • Engage with third party specialists to provide any available improvement processes and equipment. Liaise with the manufacturing and design departments to simplify manufacturing processes where possible.

  • Responsibilities will encompass working hands on across the machine shop and assembly area as well as within the office environment.

  • Take immediate action on health and safety concerns and/or escalate concerns to the relevant department manager.

  • Promote a strong, positive health and safety culture, taking a proactive view of health and safety through regular review of housekeeping.

  • Ensure equipment is effectively maintained and guarded where required.

    To apply, we ask that you are an experienced Production Engineer with significant experience working in an engineering/manufacturing environment, ideally in high precision machining and electromagnetic assembly.


  • Experience of automation/semi or full implementation is necessary along with proficiency in CAD preferably 3D using solid works.

    Preferably, you will have an apprenticeship certificate or an HNC in a relevant engineering discipline with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role.

    We are also looking for someone who has strong communication skills and knowledge of problem solving techniques.If you are able to demonstrate excellent hands on electromechanical engineering skills combined with the ability to work under pressure as part of a team and on your own initiative, then we would love to hear from you!

    This position will be on a full time, permanent basis, and working day shift hours of 38.75 per week.,
