Full Job Description

To provide support to the Production management team by assisting and co-ordinating the maintenance and optimisation of all production processes and records. A hands on role covering all production areas of the site, encompassing health and safety, production, hygiene and HR systems to ensure the site is audit ready at all times.,

  • Assist with coordinating the planning of production on site with the plant production team.

  • Ensure all production records are kept up to date including cleaning records.

  • Ensure personnel records and rotas are kept up to date including updating the T&A system.

  • Completing weekly and monthly meter readings and stock reports.

  • Coordinating the ordering of safety and chemical supplies.

  • Coordinating customer blend processing and ensuring blends are updated on AX in a timely fashion.

  • Liaising with all site staff to update and maintain risk assessments and plant procedures.

  • Coordinating the close out of customer audit corrective actions.

  • Liaising with all site staff to update and maintain COSHH assessments.

  • Assisting in the maintenance of ISO 18001, 14001 and 9001 standards.

  • Coordinating the training activities for all plant production employees.

  • Assisting the plant production team with general site operational activities.

  • Assisting the plant manager in dealing with any customer complaints and, in particular, helping to fully investigate and properly close out any issues.

  • Assisting with the preparation for customer site visits, audits, and inspections of facilities where necessary.

  • Carrying out trouble shooting projects with the plant production team to identify the reasons for specific problems and work with site management to resolve these.

  • Gain a sound understanding of the malting process and associated activities (e.g., grain handling and storage), to be able to provide support to plant management as required, specifically to provide cover for the Lab and Weighbridge areas as needed.

    Bairds Malt Limited was formed in March 1999, when two existing companies, Hugh Baird & Sons Limited and Moray Firth Maltings plc, merged to form a new company. We currently operate four malting plants within the UK and produce malt primarily for the brewing and distilling industries. Approximately 10% of our malt is exported to customers around the world who want to use British malt in their brewing or distilling operations.
