Full Job Description

  • Completing all required administrative duties for the procurement team.

  • Manage the full lifecycle of products and parts: Creating new codes; updating pricing & product information; managing active & inactive status in M3; Shopify & any other IT system.

  • Creation & Maintenance of machine records

  • To maintain accurate, clear, concise documentation and ensure all actions, logs and registers are complete and accurate with entries being made in a timely fashion., Administration and Systems Management - Completing all required administrative duties for the procurement team, managing the full lifecycle of products and parts: (Creating new codes; updating pricing & product information; managing active & inactive status in M3; Shopify & other relevant IT systems). Our Junior Buyer will also create & maintain machine records producing accurate, clear, concise documentation and ensure all action logs and registers are complete with entries being made in a timely fashion.

  • Supplier Management - Managing the set up process and administration of all suppliers across the business ensuring prompt actions, activity and top compliance (including but not limited to: new suppliers, Spare Parts and Wholesalers). Regularly reviewing best prince opportunities between Selecta's various wholesalers.

  • Sourcing & Negotiation - Our Junior Buyer will assist in sourcing and negotiating with suppliers to help achieve a contracted solution that meets the procurement annual savings budget. They will also be responsible for ensuring all documentation is in place and all parties are briefed at all stages of the scope, development, trade-offs and risks associated with the procured solution.


  • Budgetary Control - Investigating and resolving Finance PPV queries whilst calculating financial impacts of supplier COGS price changes (increases & decreases). Our Junior Buyer will also support the monthly rebates calculations, tracking and ensuring timely receipt.


  • Cross-functional engagement - To engage and support relevant stakeholders offering procurement category expertise to help understand and interpret contractual arrangements driving to deliver outstanding levels of customer service and prevent risks becoming issues.

    Strong intermediate MS Excel skills and proficient general IT skills

  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills

  • Ability to deal with multiple assignments simultaneously and prioritise and organise work to be able to meet all deadlines

  • Strong influencing & negotiation skills with the ability to build trusting relationships & partnerships quickly

  • Ability to explain complex or detailed concepts rationally with facts, figures and other supporting evidence and convince parties with differing views of an agreed way forward

  • Proven experience within a Junior Buyer/procurement administration role within a FMCG environment, preferably in food & beverage.

  • Experience of working in a service industry with an expectation of high customer service levels.
